It is recommended that you eat a balanced diet of food every day and your daily needs of Vitamin A can be can be met through either animal sources or carotenoids from plant sources. However, you should exercise some caution while eating carrots. If you eat too many carrots your skin might look yellow as you store beta-carotene, a yellow-orange pigment found in carrots under your skin.

During pregnancy vitamin, A supplement should not be taken and consumption of liver should be limited as it contains a high amount of Vitamin A. this is because excess Vitamin A during pregnancy can cause birth defects. Pre-natal supplements have enough amount of vitamin A that is safe during pregnancy.
